CONSTRUCTION OF A SHEET PILE WALL TO STABILISE THE SLOPE
The reinforced concrete wall on Gennerstraße in Hürth was due to be replaced in spring 2018 with a sheet pile wall clad with L-shaped blocks. We undertook the entire technical planning of the sheet pile wall on behalf of the contractor and supplied the necessary material. A total of 54 tonnes of L604 steel sheet pile profiles, in lengths ranging from six to 9.5 metres, were used.
The construction work was carried out in stages – that is, part of the existing concrete wall was demolished and the sheet pile wall driven in its place. Due to the historic buildings in the vicinity, we used predrilling and vibration techniques during installation. We created the required radius at a road junction using seven sheet piles manufactured in-house.
The project was originally estimated to take four weeks to complete. Thanks to our bespoke logistics concept and high-performance Machinery, it was completed in just 18 days.
