Challenge/customer problem

• Laying of new plastic-coated pipes (KMR) for the supply and return lines, with nominal diameters up to DN 350, directly into the ground, whilst simultaneously dismantling the existing pipes, the concrete trough channel and the associated manhole structures. In addition to the district heating pipeline, a cable protection pipe system, including a 4-core Speedpipe cable protection pipe, was also installed

• The LBR lightweight shoring system from E+S and the KS 60 shoring box from KRINGS were used; these shoring systems stood out due to their low weight, high load-bearing capacity and great flexibility 

Special features

• The LBR lightweight shoring system is particularly suitable for use in inner-city areas – such as in cable and pipeline construction for electricity, gas and water – where, as a rule, only small construction machinery is used. The combination of base and top plates enables trenches to be secured to depths of up to 3.5 metres. As with all extension plates, assembly is simple, quick and safe, whilst the connection via struts and bolts leaves no room for error. The same applies to the robust KS 60 shoring box, which is also designed for high load-bearing capacity, low weight and a high level of safety. This makes the box the ideal system for small and medium-sized inner-city sewer construction projects, as well as for use in open terrain
