Kick-off event in Apfelstädt attracts record numbers
With a record attendance of over 200 participants, the terra infrastructure Days 2026 got off to a successful start on 22 January in Apfelstädt, near Erfurt. The event series has thus once again established itself as a key industry gathering for site managers, cost estimators, foremen, pipework and civil engineering contractors, planners, clients and managing directors of contracting firms.
Focus on networking
The focus was on practical specialist presentations and in-depth personal discussions. The wide-ranging programme covered topics from CO₂ reduction potential through the use of temporarily flowable, self-compacting backfill materials (ZFSV) and modern trench shoring systems, right through to legal and safety requirements at the site of unexploded ordnance in civil engineering. New partnerships – including one with the Italian special civil engineering machinery manufacturer Comacchio S.p.A. – as well as insights into Machinery and sealing solutions for sheet piles also attracted considerable interest.
Host Rainer Schmee, Field Sales Representative for the South-East at terra infrastructure, gave a correspondingly positive summary: “Visitors were particularly impressed by the wide range of technical solutions in the areas of Trench Shoring, machinery and Steel Sections, which we provide as a one-stop shop. The variety and quality of the specialist presentations and the extensive networking opportunities were also highlighted.”
Due to the very positive resonance, the event format will continue: the next terra infrastructure Days will take place on 19 March in Hamburg and on 5 November in Schaafheim. Further dates are also being planned, including the 2027 kick-off event in Apfelstädt on 21 January.
