Double U-girders consist of two single U-profiles, which are assembled by means of connecting plates. Double U beams are used in waterways, traffic routes and civil engineering as shoring elements and as waling. In particular, the combination of double U beams as waling and tieback systems such as round steel anchors or micropiles makes it possible to realize projects economically. Furthermore, double U beams are used as shoring elements for soldier pile walls. This variant is also known colloquially as "Essen shoring". In contrast to Berlin shoring, the load-bearing elements consist of double U-beams instead of wide-flange beams. The advantage here is that the usually existing tieback systems, such as grouted anchors, can be connected directly to the girders without additional waling. For this purpose, we can supply the Double U, with various adaptations such as, anchor receptacles, sand trap plates, connecting plate spacing and bulkhead plates to suit the requirements of the construction site.
- Flexible use as shoring or waling possible
- Variable spacing between the individual U-profiles possible
- Low noise emissions during installation/insertion of double U in boreholes
