Vogelsberg district. “It is impressive to see the technologies being developed here in Alsfeld. terra infrastructure is a good example of the economical strength of our Vogelsberg district,” praised District Administrator Dr. Jens Mischak during a tour of the company's production halls. During a visit to terra infrastructure, the head of the economic affairs department had the opportunity to gain a comprehensive impression of the company's technologies and outputs. He was accompanied by Andrea Ortstadt from the district's economic development agency and Harald Raschel from the Vogelsberg district municipal job center.
terra infrastructure has a good 1,000 customers in around 50 countries and is active on more than 5,000 sites annually.
"Our technologies are designed to meet the challenges of civil engineering. Whether it's a flood protection system with mobile dam beam systems or soil improvement measures for highway construction using geotextile columns, we offer tailor-made solutions for every requirement," explained Nicolai Freidhof, Head of the Machinery Division. In this area, for example, vibration technology, which is designed and developed in Alsfeld, plays a decisive role. “This technology is one of the most important methods used in special civil engineering. It is based on the principle of transforming the ground into a liquid state, so to speak. This is achieved by the vibrations of the pile,” explained Alexander Wagner, also Head of the Machinery Division. Depending on the building project, Sheet piles, steel beams, or steel pipes can be driven into the ground in this way.
Another important area of the company's business is Trench Shoring, which involves securing civil engineering sites. “Products tailored to the specific application provide safe and reliable bracket support for trench and excavation walls, protecting workers,” Wagner explained. terra infrastructure also covers the field of Steel Section, which includes the sale and rental of sheet piles, steel beams, anchoring technology, and flood protection systems.
“Today, I have once again gotten to know a very exciting company. They are an essential part of our economical landscape and contribute to job creation and the strengthening of the region,” concluded District Administrator Dr. Jens Mischak.
